My darling husband,

"How do I love thee. Let me count the ways."

Another Valentine’s Day is almost here. For me it is a time for reflection. What is there about you, my husband, that I love so much? Why is it that after a lifetime with you, you still excite me and my heart still flutters when your eyes catch mine from across a crowded room. Is it just "chemistry"?

I only know I love your touch, your smile, the tender loving look in your eyes, the way you smell, the way you walk. I love your voice. I love the way you express yourself and what you have to say on any given topic. I admire you for your integrity and your moral stature and your love for God. I love your outstanding honesty and faithfulness and willingness to work hard and sacrifice for our children and me. You have always put our needs and wishes above your own. You make me feel safe.

I love the way we have fun together, whether it is taking a walk or going to the opera or on a vacation. I love it now that you have retired because when I come home, you are there – usually. Day in day out, year in year out I just love being with you. I love who you are and what you are and all the things you stand for and believe in. I love you.

Even though we are now in the sunset of life – my love for you is still young. It never changes.

Are you a dream come true? Yes. You are the dream I had as a young woman of a prince of a man I wanted to meet and marry and live happily ever after with. I thank God for giving you to me – my love of a lifetime. Ours has truly been "an affair to remember."

Always your

Patricia
